“Many Men (Wish Death)” is the third single from 50 Cent’s debut studio album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. This track deals with 50’s near death experiences (infamously, 50 was shot 9 times in 2000) and feeling like there’s a price tag on his head.

In February 2003, while on Rap City Tha Bassment, 50 Cent would say “Many Men” is his favorite song from the album:

About 20 years later, 50 Cent would contradict himself in an interview with news outlet Marca, where he said:

Many Men was my least favorite at that point because, musically we was in the boom-bap phase, we was in that hard-hitting intensity, the energy on the records, and it’s the slowest song on Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. And it’s now the tempo that the artists are rapping to. So the fast tempo, hard-hitting beats, that was that era, that time period. And the whole album had it.

“Who Shot Ya?” is Biggie’s warning to his adversaries not to mess with him and if they do, he will return the favor by killing them.

The song was originally recorded for Mary J. Blige’s 1994 album My Life but didn’t make the cut as Biggie’s version was considered too violent. Instead, Keith Murray was asked to record a different version, which is now known as the “K. Murray Interlude.”

On November 30, 1994, 2Pac was shot and robbed at Quad Studios in New York. He accused Puff Daddy, Jimmy Henchman, and Biggie for setting up the attack. “Who Shot Ya?” fueled Pac’s suspicions as he saw it as a diss track toward him, due to its coincidental release in Feburary 1995. He later responded to the song a year later with “Hit ‘Em Up” and “Bomb First (My Second Reply).”

Blackalicious was an American hip-hop duo from Sacramento, California, made up of rapper Gift of Gab and DJ/producer Chief Xcel. They are noted for Gift of Gab's often tongue-twisting, multisyllabic, complex rhymes and Chief Xcel's soulful production. The duo released four full-length albums: Nia in 1999, Blazing Arrow in 2002, The Craft in 2005, and Imani Vol. 1 in 2015. Gift of Gab died in June 2021.

For the lead single to their fourth album, Stankonia, OutKast took the space funk of their sophomore album ATLiens along with the heightened consciousness of their third album Aquemini and advanced to another level with this rapid fire, psychedelic bass-pounding monster of a single known as “B.O.B.” Despite the political nature of its title—"B.O.B.“ being an acronym for "Bombs Over Baghdad"—it’s more of a commentary on the condition of the ghetto that incorporates a few political references to get its point across. However, with the occurrence of the September 11th attacks one year after its release, "B.O.B.” became an anthem during the Iraq War, which lasted from 2003 to 2011.

In a 2019 interview with Rick Rubin on his Broken Record podcast, André revealed that the music of Rage Against the Machine—who later remixed “B.O.B.”—gave him inspiration to make the song:

I wouldn’t have done “Bombs Over Baghdad” if it wasn’t for Rage Against the Machine. Because I felt urgency in their music, so I was like, ‘How can I add urgency to what we’re doing?’ It doesn’t sound like Rage Against the Machine…it’s the energy.

“B.O.B.” peaked at #69 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the single was certified platinum. The song received critical acclaim, making its way onto a number of “best of” lists, as Rolling Stone ranked “B.O.B.” as the 50th greatest hip-hop song of all time and Pitchfork called it the greatest song of the 2000s.

On “Dance with the Devil,” Immortal Technique spits a fiendish, yet remarkable, story that is allegedly based on a true life story. It tells the tale of a teenager who had large dreams and wanted to receive respect from those considered “real thugs”, and ends with a disturbing twist. The message that is sent to the listeners is to not dance with the devil; a metaphor for showing your willingness to commit crimes to raise your status. The sampled piano beat from the 1970 track “Theme from Love Story” gives the song a dark and sinister vibe.

The song includes the hidden track “Diabolical.”

This song is dedicated to Yelawolf’s fiance, Fefe Dobson. It’s also somewhat reminiscent of the song Love Is Not Enough off of his 2010 EP, Trunk Muzik 0-60. This song appears as the final track on Yelawolf’s 2013 mixtape Trunk Muzik Returns and as the 11th track on his 2015 sophomore album, Love Story.

Yelawolf announced via an Instagram post in early May 2016 that he and Fefe had separated.
