I don't know if I'm missing it, but I can't see an option to report accounts. I just got another Nicole spam, this time with a bunch of bitcoin links, but I could only find a block option via Connect, and had to logon via web to report the account. I looked on the three-dot menus both on the message and the profile, but I couldn't see a report.

First and foremost, I'm really glad this feature has finally been added. Many have requested and it's here. Unfortunately, it's not fully baked yet.

Filters(keyword), MultiCommunities, and user notes are not exported in v244. Domain and other filters may also not be exported; I didn't have those so I'm not sure if they get exported.

So whatever you do, don't go clearing the app cache and expect everything to be saved when you import. Like I did. I only have myself to blame for testing freshly implemented features on beta builds. Losing my user notes hurt.

I was looking at this thread and, at the time of this post, it's supposed to have 41 comments but Connect only showed a handful. Opening the post in a browser shows the missing comments, some of which were moderated and removed. One comment, that had a long chain, was removed but many of its replies were not and shows up in the browser. Not sure if the moderation action is the cause of Connect not showing the chain or maybe because it's long?

Recently, I noticed the keyboard would sometimes pop up at random times and I finally figured out reproducible steps.

Search any community from the sidebar and tap on it. Tap on a post and then tap and hold the screen, sliding it to the right. The keyboard should popup for some reason, even though there is no input field on-screen(after the post view is off-screen). This only seems to happen if the search field in the sidebar has text inputted. I was wondering why the heck the keyboard keeps popping up.

Pinned posts were showing up at the top of communities a couple of versions back ~~but they're following your sort settings in v241.~~ And I think a few versions prior as well.

EDIT: Ah, so they're actually showing up at the bottom of page 1. They don't follow your sort settings and enabling the page number setting revealed that specific.

Is it possible to get lemmyverse.link URLs to resolve internally? And preferably open in Connect when tapped on elsewhere?

I just tapped one in Connect and it opened in a browser, which was a bit annoying!

I just got a new phone and I can't figure out how to transfer my Connect settings over. Would be super cool if I could export an XML file or something.

Reproduction Steps:

1. Open Connect
2. Switch to another account
3. Open the Profile page from the sidebar
4. Back out of the Profile page

Expected Behavior: User will be returned to the feed from step 2. before checking their Profile

Observed Behavior: User is returned to the default feed of the account from step 1.

Extra Information: This bug requires the user to be logged into more than one account. The different feed that's presented is the default feed of whichever account Connect is started with. You can change which account Connect starts with by switching to whichever account you want, exit out of Connect and swipe it away, and then open Connect again.

I'm not sure what the trigger is for this but it seems to occur after a couple hours of not using Connect. So sometimes when I view posts in a community, the vote count for it is around half of the actual count when I go back to viewing the community page. If I open the community in my browser, the current vote count indicates the community view in Connect is up to date. I can view other posts or go back into affected posts and the count will be incorrect.

I think viewing other subscribed communities will also not fix the problem. It is corrected when I view one of my feeds and then go back to the posts. I've only noticed this happening with the Canada community on Lemmy.ca, so it may be community specific but I suspect it's not and my other subscribed communities aren't as active to test.

I've only noticed this recently, so maybe it's only been introduced in to last couple of updates, or it's been longer and I haven't paid attention.

MultiCommunities are here!

MultiCommunities are groupings of communities that can span multiple instances. They can be used to make custom views when you are only interested in a specific subset of communities but not the overall Local/Frontpage/All feed.

All of the existing Community Settings should also apply to MultiCommunities such as View Type, Sort, Mark as Read, and so on.

If you'd like to try it out please make sure you're updated to version 239 or above. Please let me know what you think and if there are any features you'd like to see added!

The overflow options now includes an 'Add to Multi' option. The community banner also has a plus button which will add the Community to a MultiCommunity. If that community already is added instead a minus option will appear here for removing that community.

Originally, I just wanted to request tagging specific instances as NSFW. This would be helpful for posters on specific instances that do not always tag posts as NSFW but still should get caught by our NSFW preferences.

NSFW isn't always porn so the NSFW filter catches a bit much, sometimes. Excluding specific communities from the NSFW filter is an option, but that gave me yet another idea.

Expanding on this idea, it would be cool to start categorizing communities with tags, like "sports" or "news", "world news" or something arbitrary like "neat".

This would allow filtering by what kinds of content I want to view at any given time, in theory. Hell, we could even start building a master list to share for community categories in GitHub or something like that.

I can't find it anywhere in the settings. When I open the app I want to to default to Top-Day but it's stuck on Top-6 hour. Actually, sticky sort doesn't work either. I changed to Top-Day and closed the app, opened again and it was back to Top-6 Hour. Thanks for any help!

I have had the problem several times where I search for a post or comment that I know exists, but because I've got "hide after vote" enabled, it doesn't show up in search results. It's there a way to see hidden posts/comments in the search results?

Updated the app trying to fix the front page loading bug and now I'm getting flash banged by my screen when I open an image, or even my own profile with a bright blue banner I didn't ask for. Exceedingly unpleasant. Is there any way to roll back to an older version without all this?

Not sure if it is because it's hosted on PieFed, although that shouldn't matter, but trying to subscribe to !youdontmattergiveup@piefed.social gives a message saying I've unsubscribed. It also doesn't show any posts although there are some on the host instance (that's probably a federation issue though, nothing to do with Connect).

I typed out a post and went to add the picture for it but after the upload, a draft wasn't saved and the body section was empty. It was only two sentences so not a big loss. This is with v232.

Also, can the title be saved with the drafts as well? The title field is never saved.

EDIT: Interestingly, the title is saved after selecting an image but the body is not. While a saved draft, after backing out of post creation, doesn't include the title.

EDIT2: Another bug is post edits are no longer appearing after you submit them. Even when you back out to the community view and go into the post to refresh it, the updated post is not reflected and you need to reopen Connect for the things to be updated.

This would be useful to have! And also the ability to copy text from DMs (and comments!).

There used to be a red and blue gradient background here. Now it's gone. I reset the theme, but it still shows white text on white background. Not that big of a deal as there's nothing there I need to read, but still mildly annoying. Also it means the switch user option isn't visible now.

Also is this how the surface colour setting is meant to work? I wanted the background colour in light mode to be an off-white so it's easier on the eyes, but there doesn't seem to be a way?

Time seems to cause this more than anything else and I cannot replicate at-will. (I have actually been trying to catch the condition that causes this for a few months, but finally gave up today.)

Backing out from other communities will sometimes trigger this, but not always. I have only noticed this on c/all. If it seems I have been in one community for a "bit of time" and have locked/unlocked my phone a couple of times, the chance of this occuring seems higher. (That theory is kinda bullshit, but it's something)

Reloading the feed from the main menu clears the condition. (I haven't checked if a standard feed refresh works after the last couple of updates. It usually hasn't worked.)

Sort options like Top 6 hours, Top 1 hour are missing from v229?

After you tap on the three dots to bring up the new overflow menu, tapping outside of it to dismiss the menu registers as a regular tap on the feed. So I tap to close the menu but end up going to a post I didn't intend to.

There also seems to be a delay of half a second or so from tapping on the menu and it appearing. This is occurring on my Pixel 6 on v226. IIRC the old menu was faster.

Also I wanna throw shade at the new organization. It definitely looks better and should be organized. Personally, I liked having the option to block the community directly from the menu; now I have to tap on the block sub-menu first. Like the add user notes, now I gotta tap once more. But I'll adjust.

I wanted to bring to your attention a feature from Voyager for Lemmy that could be a valuable addition to Connect.

Voyager has a "Migrate Subreddits" tool designed SPECIFICALLY for Reddit users transitioning to Lemmy.

This tool streamlines the migration process by helping users easily find communities on Lemmy that are similar to the subreddits they've subscribed to on Reddit.

The process in Voyager is straightforward:

1. Users log in to their Reddit account and access their subscription list via the "multireddit of your subscriptions" link available in the sidebar.
2. They copy the link and paste it into Voyager, allowing the tool to automatically search for corresponding communities on Lemmy.

This feature SIGNIFICANTLY lowers the friction for users migrating to a new platform by minimizing the effort required to find and rebuild their communities.

Has Connect ever considered incorporating a similar "Migrate Communities" feature?

It could be an excellent addition to assist new users transitioning from Reddit, making it easier for them to rediscover and reconnect with the communities they care about most.

Such a feature could also enhance Connect's onboarding process and attract a growing audience of users exploring alternative platforms.

If this is something Connect could implement, it might be worth exploring further.

Hey there, is it possible to add a bottom par when viewing a picture to have certain actions directly available (like sharing the picture).

If this is already implemented please point me in the right direction.
