Fou Fri 06 Dec 2024

  • Brush: Rubberset 400-3 with unbleached 26 mm Zenith knot set at 56 mm loft
  • Razor: C. V. Heljestrand MK № 31 (square point, full hollow, 5/8", carbon steel)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. – Varen
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann – Fougère Classique
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Heather

Finally feeling a bit better after 2 days of fever, coughing, and headache, and I had a wonderful Fougère Friday shave to make me feel halfway human again.

The knot in this Rubberset is set deep an is really squeezed into the tight ferrule. As a result, it has by far the strongest backbone of my brushes. This was my AA brush a year ago and I like it a lot. It picks up soap quickly and creating that slick thick mutton tallow lather of Varen worked like a charm. The half hollow Heljestrand felt butter smooth melting through whiskers ATG.

An improvement is an improvement, though. Everything pointing the right way 😊

How about you? Getting better as well?

Yes, I'm still sick but every day seems to be slightly better. Just waiting to wake up one day feeling all better!
