First off, no hard feelings here. I have been a Christian for a very long time, but that's not the point. Just wanted to clear the air before I go on.
It is easy to take Christianity and make it self serving. Having been a member of a generic Christian Church in the past, supply side Jesus is very real.
I'm not going to pretend I don't have my head up my ass around certain issues, but most of what Christians are being taught are old testament and then selected passages from Jesus' followers. What is missing is the golden rule (fucking respect others, okay?), the parts where it says to not seek money (prosperity is bullshit, it's about actual spiritual growth), to do good without calling attention to yourself, and that everyone is fundamentally equal.
It's super easy to take the Bible and make it say whatever you want. The Jesus I follow actually would agree with most of the seven tenants of the Satanic Temple.
