Republicans are conservative. The progressive wing of the Democratic Party is too far to the left. Democrats must move toward the center in order to attract more voters. Note the centrist candidate in Romania just won.
The Republican and Democrat parties are both conservative these days, leaving people who aren't conservative with no representation. It makes more sense to me for each party to offer a clear alternative, instead of both supporting the same policies to attract the same voters and leaving everyone who doesn't agree with those policies disenfranchised.
No, Democrats are liberal and Republicans conservative. Take immigration. Biden let in a flood of illegal migrants. In contrast, Trump has closed the southern border and is deporting all illegal migrants in the US. The US needs a centrist candidate.
