At first read, I thought the dad was confessing to cheating on OP's mum with dudes but now my question is...then what did the dad think it was?
"Bisexual" isn't really a new term. And for someone who has been fucking around, you think they would've run into the term sooner.
Some people are really detached from the culture they live in.
Or it could be made up. Who knows?
But I can definitely attest to some older folk not knowing what 'bisexual' means, especially in a rural or semirural area.
Can confirm. I had an older coworker come out to me by saying that her husband "never judged her for having girlfriends in the past", but didn't know the language around it. She was treated so poorly by so many people that she didn't feel like a part of the gay community, moreso ashamed and judged. Rather inconsistent use of language actually.
