Jeremy Scahill and Jawa Ahmad

Ahead of the meeting, Hamas is vigorously rejecting Israel’s allegations that Palestinian forces in Gaza are abusing Israeli captives by depriving them of food. “For the Israeli prisoners held by the resistance in Gaza, they are experiencing the same conditions as the people of Gaza,” Hamas officials wrote in an August 4 letter to the council obtained by Drop Site. “The famine—caused by the occupation regime—affects all areas of the Strip, and inevitably its effects are reflected upon the 'Israeli' captives, just as they are reflected upon their captors, their families, and the overwhelming majority of Gaza’s population.”

You know in a few decades everyone's going to agree the current Israeli government are no better than Nazis. It's frustrating that too many powerful people are still holding out while it's not too late to do something about it.

Just to play devil’s advocate, how does helping benefit the powerful people?

Ask Trump

AIPAC is Isreals slush fund for influencing US Politics. Israel also has surveillance tech and for profit prison solutions as major exports to places like the USA. They additionally have strong economic and political ties to Russia via the Roman Abromovich steel empire.

According to the Biden Admin, Netanyahu intentionally avoided signing any new ceasefires until after the election to help Trump's campaign. Netanyahu also directly endorsed Trump.

My question was directed at this statement:

It's frustrating that too many powerful people are still holding out while it's not too late to do something about it.

I’m implying that the powerful do nothing to help the Palestinians because they have nothing to gain out of it. Just like all the other countries with starving people and wars going on that don’t get much coverage. They will suffer and die because the powerful people have decided they are not worth saving.
