Probably something about millions of them being tortured and killed in concentration camps that makes mocking the Jewish people kinda taboo.
For the most part, they've been pretty chill about the whole thing, frankly.... But those cuts run deeeep. I'm not Jewish, and even I'm disgusted by how they were rounded up and slaughtered like cattle for no reason other than being who they are.
The biggest issue that I think you're going to face is that most people can't differentiate between the Jewish faith and the Jewish people (who may or may not believe in the Jewish faith).
Generally, I don't think that making fun of the faith is any more or less taboo than poking fun at Christians or Catholics or whatever.... But making fun of the Jewish people, is generally a no fly zone.
Since people lack the intelligence, awareness, and shits to give, in order to see that being Jewish and believing in the Jewish faith are separate. So if you make fun of one, you're making fun of both.
Edit: let me back up for a second to say: I'm just trying to explain the behaviour. I am neither Jewish, nor a fan of the Jewish people, nor do I have any strong feelings against them per-se. This message is only discussing how others tend to see the Jewish people/faith/whatever. It does not, in whole or in part, express how I feel about anything at all, ever, for any reason.
I think whatever ship protected them sailed with all the genocide they're committing.
Stop conflating Israel's atrocities and zionism in general with Judaism and Jewish people. It 1) plays right into Israel's strategy and 2) is, or at the very least begets, antisemitism.
Judaism is a religion and not an ethnicity. A white person from NEW JERSEY putting a tiny hat doesn’t change his ethnicity.
A jew in New Jersey is an american (location) following judaism (religion).
A jew in Palestine is a semite/arab (location) following judaism (religion).
Again, I didn’t conflate them, israel is a self proclaimed jewish supremacists state.
How is saying 'the genocide they're committing' when talking about Judaism not conflating Jews with Israel?
You are not reading eh? IT IS conflating the two, you are just mad at the wrong people.
Zionist deeply conflated their supremacist ideology with judaism 100 or so years ago. This way, if someone criticises you, you can call him antisemantic and go on with your ethnic cleansing.
But it’s more than conflating, it’s hijacking it, because often many zionists in power positions don’t call themselves zionists but jews. Again this is a shield.
Do you want to be a practicing jew without all the lying, stealing, pedophilia, blackmailing and genocide? Be my guest.
Aren’t you tired to be lied to your face every day on every fucking platform? Do you think is okay to lie so you can massacre kids?
Instead of your pointless rhetorical questions, answer mine please.
Ok, Zionists are conflating judaism and Israel's crimes. So are you. Neither mean that Judaism and Israel's crimes are one and the same. That's why I, in my first comment, said your conflating Israel's crimes and Judaism plays right into Israel's cards.
People would very much just like to practice Judaism and be normal humans at the same time. The religion being conflated with genocide by people like you as well as by Israel isn't helping those people, though.
