Are the main shortcomings of LinkedIn adequately addressed by an open-source, federated model?
Thereโs more transparency involved with allowing the community to inspect the code and decide on the direction of the project. Funding will be provided by donations. If people are unhappy they can always withhold donations and pull requests.
This is not going to be a carbon copy of LinkedIn, it would be a different beast.
Every instance can do their own thing. Youโre not locked into the sole vendor microsoft anymore in this plan. Weโre planning on hosting the repo on Codeberg.
