Played some Judgment, have reached Chapter 8.

I am getting a bit tired of the chase and following parts, they were fun in the beginning, but pretty much every side story end up with chasing or following someone. The stories themselves are still interesting (most of the times, but when you have to run after the same "hat" 3rd time, that too starts to become a bit annoying) so continuing with those for now.

The Keihin Gang has also become a bit of an annoyance, I have already beaten most of their leaders, but after every little while the threat level increase to 100% with tons of enemies attacking wherever I go.

Even with these, the game is still fun, at worst I'll just skip the side content and stick to the main story.

Started Fire Emblem: Three Houses on Switch 2.

I first started it a while back, but got anxiety with all the relationship stuff that I am messing it up and won't be able to recruit anyone, so dropped the game. Started it again now, and am now following the guide for the monastery part. Though now I am realising there was no need for it. You can only have 10 units on one map, even with adjucants, you can't have more than 15 units even on the biggest map, with around 12-13 on normal one, so there was no point to get worries about it.

I have reached Chapter 6, and loving the gameplay. I have sided with Black Eagles, will probably replay to play through all house stories.

I ended up buying Football Manager 26, following your advice. I don't regret it but the game is in an absolutely terrible State currently. I really have no idea how it is so unfinished just a week from full release. Anyway, I will continue to play and submit bug reports. In a weird way it's almost enjoyable, I feel like I am genuinely contributing to the improvement of a "beta" for once because there is so much that needs work.

These mostly seem like UI bugs, hopefully they have those fixed for their 1.0 release.

The UI is definitely buggy but there are also a lot of features just missing entirely. The data analysis stuff, for example. You can tell it's unfinished and not a design decision because the bones of the features are all there and the game still refers you to them constantly. Fortunately, I found a lot of the missing stuff to be bloat anyway, so it hasn't impacted me as much as other players.

Oh, that doesn't sound great. Maybe they are holding the stuff back for the big 1.0 update? I haven't bought any early access game, but I have often seen that 1.0 update is generally big with lots of stuff included.

That's usually not how Football Manager is developed. The "beta" as they call it, is just a couple of weeks of early access for people who pre-order which they use to track and fix the most extreme bugs. They usually don't do content updates, there are just changes made to the database and the game itself.

This year is a bit different in that they've announced an international management/World Cup content update will be coming later. That's content which has historically always been in the game from launch, so it seems it was also cut due to time restraints. Hopefully that means they'll add back some other missing stuff too, but I'm not getting my hopes up lol

That doesn't sound too great. Are you still having fun? As you mentioned you don't care about some of the stuff that's missing, or is it too broke for even that?

I'm still having fun, yeah. The game is frustrating at times because the bugs and lack of features are so plainly obvious that it feels like no one at the studio bothered to play the game prior to release. However, despite all that this year's FM has made progress in all the areas I care most about which is unusual. I've been playing the series since 2004/05, so when I got hooked it was a much simpler game. I dont need a lot of the broken stuff to have fun.

EDIT: I should add for context: FM 25 was actually cancelled because they couldn't finish it in time, so this year's game has been worked on full-time for at least two years. The big transition to Unity they've had so many issues with has been planned since 2022, with part of the team working on it since then. That's why the state of FM 26 is kinda shocking to everyone.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the context. And glad that you are still enjoying it.
