Maybe it's just me but I don't get it
Maybe for edits? Transparent backgrounds allow putting the image on top of another without completely covering it, e.g. the image attached.
Oh. The logo is transparent. I got it now lol.
My brain was stuck on image being an os installation media or something in this context
