According to a recent report by Intelligence Online, Taiwan's deputy defense minister secretly visited Israel to seek help in developing the T-Dome.

The outlet says Israel has been providing defense technology and expertise to Taiwan under the guise of civilian programs.

Isn't Taiwan China? The name of the country is literally The Republic of China.

These are two sides of a civil war that never ended.

Yes, but Taiwan has been functionally independent for over 70 years now, and have a very different social, political and economic context from mainland China.

According to wikipedia, it is a violation of the constitution of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for Taiwan to be independent and give up its claim on the mainland.
