I get the meme and all, but assuming Mario is representative of a cis man, isn’t this reinforcing a really bad stereotype; men who never fully mature find a partner who will act as their mom?
Nah, some people just really suck at being assertive (and/or have really bad social anxiety).
I feel like if somebody has horrible social anxiety, your partner complaining for you, in front of you, probably ain't much better. I know I would find the situation embarrassing as hell.
That's true, but sometimes I definitely need a little push from someone in situations like this.
