I did. I do visit once every few days for the communities that haven't seen a big exodus. I was a Sync user, now I use Jerboa. It's actually on par with Sync imho. So I donated to Jerboa the exact amount Sync's developer was asking (sixteen euros).

I did.

My wife dropped Reddit but never adopted Lemmy, despite my attempts lol.

I did. No apps on my phone anymore, and any time I have to visit the site I block Google from automatically signing me in. So I've used the site but not as an active user.

Still waiting for good search engine discoverability for Lemmy. Seems like Reddit is set up for that but not Lemmy. If that would work, I'd dropped Reddit altogether and start prioritizing Lemmy.

While I'm still in the process of closing down my Reddit account due to having a lot of useful saved posts. A big thing that has helped my switch is the my favorite Reddit client infinity got forked( or repurposed by the dev. I'm not sure which) into a Lemmy version called eternity, so the move in terms of app familiarity has been almost seamless. I do find quality posts and content in general is on a much smaller scale on here, but that has actually been a good thing for me as I now spend a lot less time on social media.

I did a few months back.

For years I have rallied against the dark forces working to consume Reddit's glorious mission statment but the minor inconvenience of a subpar app was just too much!

Reddit is such a shitshow now, I'm considering keeping my old account only to add fuel to the fire by insulting idiots. Let's burn the whole thing to the ground.

[–] GarytheSnail@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

I dropped it.

I will probably use it just for my nhl teams sub once the season starts up. But that's it.

[–] Trent@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

I stopped participating, and mostly using it. I've been back a couple times when a search for information led me there, but otherwise I haven't used it.

It is possible to estimate?

No. Everything from zero to everyone here may still use Reddit in parallel.
Personally, I use kbin exclusively now.

Both. I use the connect app to browse lemmy while on my phone and when I'm on my computer I go on Reddit with ad blocker.

[–] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

Reddit is PC only using the old site. But I've been using it much less now despite most of my usage was on PC already. I much prefer Lemmy on my PC and Summit on mobile now.

[–] theamigan@lemmy.dynatron.me 1 points 2 years ago

Me. I never directly browse to it. If I end up on a reddit post from a google search on desktop, meh, I'll click the link. No chance in hell on mobile.

[–] Goodie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

At this point, only on mobile, really tbh. Usability is... It's a time.

[–] sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

I mostly moved. There's one sub I still frequent because of the community there. And often I find answers to tech questions there, and take part in those discussions.

I mostly dropped reddit for the fun bullshit I used to enjoy. But Lemmy hasn't replaced that fun. Lemmy is kinda self righteous and squeamish, obsessed with defederating and bitching about tankies. I need to find a new home.

[–] snowbell@beehaw.org 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I did at first but I'm using Reddit again alongside this because Lemmy is kind of depressing/exhausting, and also doesn't have a lot of the content I want. Namely firearms and motorcycle stuff, along with lots of food related subs.

I only use it once a week on a specific niche subreddit that hasn't migrated elsewhere. I may very occasionally browse a post or two if I'm bored, but I don't comment on or upvote anything outside that one niche subreddit. So I haven't 100% stopped using it, but my usage has dropped by a lot.

[–] circuscritic@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

I still use it via the limited 3rd party apps that are still available, but my usage has dropped by 90%.

Lemmy is mostly fine for news sharing and commenting, but my more niche subs aren't really built out enough here yet. I'm relatively hopeful that Lemmy will continue to grow, and the non-meme communities will grow with it.

JFC the meme communities are everywhere here. I block all that I find. Maybe that's how Reddit is now as well, but my subs had been curated and fine toned over a decade so I didn't see the content I wasn't interested in.

[–] Lolen10@lemmy.fmhy.net 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (3 children)

I did mostly. But when I really need reddit for something, I use a libreddit instance I set up on my raspberry pi.

But my Reddit-Account still exists.
