Bringing some home too, as gifts, because we humans can't hunt. Last time it was still alive, and my cat was proudly watching me trying to catch the little critter from a counter. I could hear him: you can do it, human! you're welcome!
Most of the time they are dead, though, heads or spines missing. When I hear my wife screaming at 5am I know there's another partial mouse in front of the main door.
