I think it's still too early personally. I wonder why they're pushing this now and not later down the line when the game is more fleshed out, feels weird to throw China in the mix when stuff like HRE and Crusades are still lacklustre, not to mention the dearth of Christian depth.
They have said repeatedly that their logic is developing systems built on another.
Administrative government from last year -> celestial government and silk road this year -> playable republics probably next year
Mandala government this year -> playable theocracies probably next year
And crusades are getting overhauled with the free patch this month btw.
Pumped to see this! The eastern part of the map is already my favorite area to play in. Can't wait to see them flesh out the nomadic tribes more as well!
Hoping this turns out to be true! Big fan of playing out east already and China would just make it even better!
