No reason? Lil guy is locked in a cage!

[–] NickwithaC@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Seriously! What reason does the cat have to be nice to the giant who locks them up and takes the key with them?

And leaves hardly any snack at all.

Dog owners' tolerance for being attacked by dogs: LOW

Cat owners' tolerance for being attacked by cats: HIGH

"Aww isn't that cute, he suddenly hurt me!"

My kitten loves to rear up on her back legs, throw her body at my leg, wrap her front legs around my leg and bite my leg, then yeet herself off me and run away.

Luckily she understands biting and claws hurt so she manages to do this without any marks but it took...awhile.

She's a good cat.

My dog's favorite game was to have me grab his tail. He would immediately spin around and grab my wrist, and then he would bite harder and harder until I let go. As soon as I let go of his tail, he would let go of my wrist. I don't bruise easily so I was fine, but other people who tried it got bruises.

I have no idea what he got out of that game. People thought I was being mean to him, but if I held my hand out then he would walk backwards to put his tail in my hand.

That's why you get litter mates. They teach each other to play without pain.

She's learning! She does understand the ouch and stops! But yes, she should have a sibling.

Being attacked by a cat is annoying, not potentially lethal. Also cats don't usually attack without reason. If a cat keeps attacking for "no reason" that's learned behaviour. Their instinct is to run away from humans, which is what wild and feral cats do unless cornered.

Cat scratch fever is a real thing and can be dangerous. But I doubt anyone has been mauled to death by a pack of cats.

Granted, no one's been mauled to death by a hungry Chihuahua either.

[–] LowtierComputer@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

I bet there's some freak example of an elderly person or infant getting mauled to death by a Chihuahua.

I mean, dog sized cat species exist and we don't keep them as pets with good reason.

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

My spirit animal

I'll take him.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago

I mean, maybe he wants out of the friggen cage. That might be the reason.

[–] Elkot@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

This is my cat, bitch likes to hit me for no reason

[–] troyunrau@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

I want to take him home and train him to hunt my fruit flies.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

"Hey buddy . . . c'mere. I'll tell you a cat secret."

[–] kubica@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago

You wouldn't get it. Those peaceful days were because it needed a rest.
