Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.
Love that you've taken it on Queen excited to see what you do with it
Does "no politics" just mean no current events / headlines / news about electoral politics (like, Republicans did X, Trump did Y)?
I just don't see how a rule like "no politics" can be compatible with wanting more feminism, which is very much politics (and not surprising, you point to the feminism community for those who want to talk politics).
Sorry to be that person, I just want to understand.
Thanks Dandelion I appreciate you raising it and understand your point. For now we're no politics because people want an escape from it and there's several other communities to discuss it. Having some politics but not others isn't manageable, will cause stress for members and could cause friction. So for now, no politics.
Maybe this is a me problem, but one way I understand "no politics" is as including "no feminism", i.e. not talking about anything political includes not talking about feminism ...
I completely understand that people want a break, I'm not questioning the rule, I'm just confused about what it means.
When people talk about being exhausted about politics, usually I understand them to mean they want a space where they won't be exposed to headlines or news articles about what's going on because it's stressful - I just want to make sure I'm understanding that correctly 😅
It might help to have examples of what is or isn't thought of to be political.
If for example I talked about my experiences with a male colleague where he was really rude and I wasn't sure if he was being sexist, that would be both personal and political in nature, but I assume most people wouldn't consider that a violation of the "no politics" rule?
Or a trans person sharing their experience of trans-misogyny in public, that is clearly political but also personal, and likewise not a violation?
Or are these examples of what we should avoid?
(Maybe this doesn't need to be clarified up-front, and I'll just learn the hard way - I just want to be conscientious, but I understand if I'm asking too much.)
Ahhhh I see what you mean sorry a bit of crossed wires. So yes no government based politics, so no Trump did ABC. People's experiences are always fine
that makes sense to me - thank you for clarifying!!
Np at all really glad to discuss it with you ❤️
Glad to see so many voted for feminism and arts and crafts! 😃
Thanks for doing this Lady/Cheese!
Maybe for the folks that don't like fashion, we could do a "Fashion Friday" thing, where there's a Friday megathread dedicated to fashion? Just a thought. And just to clarify, does fashion pertain to just clothing, or does it include makeup/nail polish/jewelry, etc?
I am one of the not interested in fashion posts, but as I said in the survey, I can just scroll past them. It’s not like it is offensive or something 😂. I just already have my taste established and am not looking for inspo. Keep posting fashion stuff whenever you feel like, let’s not censor ourselves, we get enough of that from the outside.
Np at all! Want to make it a good space for women. There was a small minority of people that don't like the fashion, most people do. I don't want to limit it to day as they can easily scroll past. Overall it's something members really want.
