The psych movies are great. I'll keep watching as long as they keep making them. It's not really a revival as much as just checking in on the characters. The cast is what made psych so good.

The psych movies are fun, so I'm glad they weren't talking about a show.

But the article mentions the idea of a Monk revival, to which I say no.

The show's ending was perfect, and the movie was a good enough fit. But Monk deserves that ending. It's not a show, or a character, that's going to work if revived, even with another movie. Let us keep that ending.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it a 'revival." As the article itself states there have been 3 follow on movies, which I enjoyed, and I hope everyone else did too. I fully expected there to be more movies as long as all/most of the original actors are on-board...well at least Shawn, Gus, and Lassie, and maybe Juliette, and McNab.

Pysch was always a nice 40+ minute pressure release from an otherwise stressful time

Amen to that, psych was a show I could always get some laughs from, even when things were horrible irl. Monk too (and I am a Shaloub fan beyond Monk, so thank you )

If you're a Tony Shalhoub fan I'd recommend Big Night

I thought he was fantastic (as were all the actors) in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

A coworker was trying to get me to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel when it first premiered, but at the time I was leery of shows with just a first season - it's just disappointing to have a good show cancelled after just one season. I never got around to watching it, I'm going to queue that up for this weekend, thanks for the suggestion!

I'd love to see more, but since the cast never got along, I doubt we will ever get more Fringe.

Alternatively, how about some novel shows instead?

Because everybody involved including the viewers has to go through the whole process of separating wheat from chaff. And OMG is there a lot of chaff.

[–] essteeyou@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

So why turn wheat into chaff?
