Pro/E doesn't leave you waiting. Instead, it abruptly exits with no warning.

(No, I'm not calling it Creo. I'm old and stuck in my ways.)

CATIA let's you pull the trigger. When it shits the bed, you get a little window with "Click OK to terminate" and you can't do anything but click OK.

Didn't save for the last hour? Too bad. Better luck next time.

Do people still use catia? What industry?

[–] Addition@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

I had to use it when I worked at an auto supplier. I even helped write training materials for the new Catia V6 version, which was somehow significantly worse than V5.

Boeing uses CATIA for CAD and ENOVIA for their CAD parts data repository.

Would you like to report the error? Are you sure? Can you bear the weight of abandoning this? Quitter?

Girl you liked liked you enough to give you contact information and read it.

Think you're doing all right.

FreeCAD will at least respond to you. It might want you to interpret its mystical signals to decipher what it wants, but it will not ice you out.

OTOH, Solidworks will report you to the authorities with a detailed description of every room in your house and the contents of your refrigerator.

I found out the hard way that they're very aggressive when it comes to unlicensed use. If your machine has a wireless card they'll even use that to triangulate your location.
