I have no idea about the relative popularity of their songs, but "Elven Bodyglove" from Axe Assassin Albertson lives rent-free in my brain.

Seagulls, Stop It Now!

Hmm-ha hm-hm-ha-hm, hmm-ha hm-hm-ha-hm!

We said underrated

No chocolate lagoon love? Nobody wants a sample of my pasta?

I remember almost choking because I was laughing so hard at “Everybody Poops” and how Fergie was notorious amongst the Peas for having such horrible bowel issues.

Whenever someone references the book, I basically always follow it up (sometimes silently) with “and if you don’t you’re an android and should be destroyed”

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 6 points 5 days ago

No she ain't no android.... you can take my word....

I don't know about underrated, but "Beard with Glue" and "Hostiles on the Hill" are definitely among the best.

"Dont worry about it, Darius
'cos I'm a mile high and I'm the scariest"

I'll check out the beard with glue one

For me, it’s gotta be either “Haiku”, or “Sassafras”

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 days ago

Wow Sassafras is awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDI_IN6pD7U&t=48s

Checking out Haiku

Woah, okay this is weird -- but for some reason, in the BLR version of the song, they made the singer's hands SUPER BIG

left: BLR video, right: original video

[–] Casuallynoted@pawb.social 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I believe I know why! The original upload by BLR got copyright struck by Maroon 5, so it had to be taken down. This is an upload by someone else and they likely made some edits to the video to prevent it from getting flagged by the system :)

But yes I love both these songs hahaha Sassafras in particular fucks.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 3 points 5 days ago

oh wow, okay that makes sense -- hahaha

I don't know how their music are rated to begin with.

I think my favorites were Carl Poppa and Gang Fight.

[–] turdburglar@lemm.ee 3 points 5 days ago

la jiggy jar jar do.

[–] 2xsaiko@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 5 days ago

Carl Poppa

Holy shit, memories unlocked. Uploaded 10 years ago…

I’ll need to listen to all the others again.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 days ago

It took me years to realise where the name Carl Poppa had come from

For me I think it has to be It's not a Moon, especially when that heavy bass really kicks in half-way through.

I have a mini-fantasy in my head where someone travels back in time to the 1980s and shows this video to people. The composition, the parody, the extra Star Wars scenes.... it would literally blow them away
