Donald Trump ripped into Iran and Israel for violating a ceasefire deal within hours of his triumphant announcement.

“You basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f--- they’re doing! Do you understand that?” he told reporters Tuesday morning on his way to the NATO summit in The Hague.

One of the more honest things he's ever said.

[–] rosco385@lemmy.wtf 32 points 10 hours ago

Whoever produced The Apprentice should commit seppuku in atonement for helping Trump build his platform.

Seriously, why the fuck is this news?

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 17 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

If Obama had said “fuck” in office, wouldn’t have been 24/7 for two weeks on Fox News?

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Faux News isn't news, so what's your point?

[–] blarth@thelemmy.club 8 points 8 hours ago

He would have been impeached and we would never have heard the end of the outrage from Fox.

[–] renamon_silver@lemmy.wtf 5 points 11 hours ago

So they have the excuse to write "trump explodes" in the headline

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 8 points 9 hours ago

There was no ceasefire

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 73 points 15 hours ago (5 children)

The odds of us experiencing a loser of this caliber again in our lifetimes is pretty slim.

Interestingly enough, the odds of me ever having a shred of respect for this country again in our lifetimes is also pretty slim.

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 hours ago

They'll have to have the cannon custom made.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 8 points 10 hours ago

Unfortunately people like Greg Abbott, Ron DeSantis, JD Vance, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and more still exist.

[–] imrighthere@lemmy.ca 22 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

The entire admin and half the country are losers of this caliber, you're drowning in them. Nice thought though.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

I think people are underestimating how big a loser Trump is. Like the people supporting him are losers, but it takes quite a bit to approach his unprecedented levels of loserhood.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 12 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Closer to a third. Maybe two thirds if you include the lazy fucks that couldn't be bothered to stand in line for a few minutes.

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

What blows my mind is even in states like Washington, California and Oregon, which utilize mail-in voting, only about 75% of registered voters participated. How hard is it to check some boxes and fling the letter in the mailbox?

Fuck this hurts to read, and empathize with.

Who would have thought that bringing peace to the Middle East would be so difficult?!

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 110 points 20 hours ago (10 children)

His obsession with the Nobel peace price is really what's driving all this. He's been willing to do deals nobody else would make just to get that recognition, and it's ironically inflaming more conflict.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 54 points 20 hours ago (4 children)

The best news I read is that his nomination was withdrawn so now he's extra yippy.

Muslims and Jews have been fighting each other for nearly 3000 years.

If anyone thinks they're going to be the one person who can stop that conflict, they're absolutely delusional.

[–] tallricefarmer@sopuli.xyz 21 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

But Islam was founded 1400 years ago

[–] CoopaLoopa@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

In this case I meant the literal definition of Muslim, not just Islam. The Persians were fighting Judeans back in 500 BC over the same land. It's still the same conflict, just under a different name millenia later.

[–] geissi@feddit.org 7 points 3 hours ago

I meant the literal definition of Muslim, not just Islam.

And what is that supposed to be?
The English definition is a follower of Islam 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

If you take the translation from Arabic "someone in submission to the will and law of God” then I don't see how that would not apply to religious Jews as well.

So it would really help your argument if you could provide a source that shows any significant meaning of Muslim outside the context of Islam.

What a stupid comment

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 53 points 17 hours ago (5 children)

Not that I don't like to see him miserable but if saying fuck counts as a meltdown, I meltdown every time I speak. Honestly, its not even a signifier of stress, its more likely to signal your being genuine

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 33 points 16 hours ago (7 children)

How many times can you recall a president cursing when talking to reporters? Even Trump doesn't curse much in his tweets or press briefings. So it's definitely notable.

Context matters. Someone using profanity more often than they otherwise would in the same context is generally a signifier of stress or excitement.

WE understand that. Someone deluded themselves into thinking that a couple bombs would magically produce peace. This is not a Harry Potter movie, so Explosio Nocturna did not work.

It's a word. I'm getting broken down by the amount of censorship on the internet, particularly Youtube. Their guidelines only state to withhold any uncensored cursing or content deemed only suitable for mature audiences for the first fifteen seconds, to avoid being tagged as mature and the video viewcount and profit largely reduced. A very small price to pay for freedom of human expression and life. But channels take this much further than the relatively mild corporation's rules, such as:

  • Censoring or obscuring all expletives deemed by Christianity to be foul
  • Censoring or obscuring all words describing a sensitive subject (e.g. rape, sex, sexual, abuse, murder, suicide, kill)
  • Censoring any moment in which a being is subject to any form of impact, whether accidental, assault or police abuse

These actively block and suppress conversing about real issues, leading to more harm, more assault, and more silent victims. Every time the word suicide is censored signifies to me that another person has committed suicide because they weren't heard. This has been proven to be correlation.

Censorship of human life, experience and expression not only insults my personal ideals of life and freedom, but actually causes more harm, and I cannot forgive that.

What makes swear words so offensive? It’s not their meaning or even their sound. Is language itself a red herring here?

Being Silenced: The Impact of Negative Social Reactions on the Disclosure of Rape

Censorship of words like ‘rape’ and ‘sexual assault’ on social media hurts victims more than it stops bad actors

Everybody has understood that for decades.

Didn't they settle everything in the middle east under his first term? The Saudis sent Trump's inept, unqualified, security risk son in law nepotism hire Jared Kushner billions to manage afterward to get rich from to celebrate the long lasting peace they negotiated /s

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 34 points 18 hours ago (25 children)

At some point even he has to realize that he's a joke right?

Like even his syphillitic brain can't not see what's right in front of him forever, can it?

To other world leader's he's a joke. Someone who they can stroke his ego to get whatever they want, and then ignore him entirely and do whatever they feel like anyway.

"Israel..don't drop those bombs" Israel had no intention of listening to him. Russia had no intention of listening to him. They make his sense of self importance skyrocket and so they say whatever they need to say to get him to do whatever THEY want him to do, and then don't listen to him the rest of the time.

Is he really this fucking stupid?

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 10 points 15 hours ago

At some point even he has to realize that he’s a joke right?

Nah. Narcissism is a hell of a drug.

Is he really this fucking stupid?

Yes. Trump definitively answered the question of whether a complete, total, utter, absolute, unconditional moron can fail upwards and be fabulously wealthy.

This is what generational wealth in an ultra-capitalist society with a different justice system for the wealthy can produce. A monster. A stupid fucking monster.
