Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

That's totally my uber racist white twin brother. Except for the nose. And the face part. And the hair. Oh who am I kidding, that guy looks like me but with the contrast and brightness set to 100%. I'm disappointed at my white self. I always wished I would be a benevolent type of white politician twin guy. And clearly not. But I am way more handsome. OK who am I kidding, I didn't even shave today. At least I'm just a low level copycat and not evil Steven Colbert speaker. If I was Steven, I wouldn't even walk outside. That's how embarrassed I would be of looking like that guy.

I guess it could be worse. You could be minding your own business selling ice cream Popsicles or something in the streets of India and next thing you know your evil twin opens a concentration camp for migrants or something.

Dude America already is the 3rd world

[–] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

The "first world" was defined as US and their allies, 2nd world as USSR and their allies and 3rd world as no aligned. Now, US is run by Russian assets trying to replicate the third Reich. So I guess it should be second world instead?

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Ask a MAGAt to name a third world country. Instead of naming one they will name the country of the race they hate the most.

you know, "mexican countries"

I have nothing to say about Brandon Gill except of course: try to make it look like an accident.

Laura Loomer wrote on X that Mamdani "is from Africa. And you can tell in the way he eats. Disgusting."

If eating with your hands is disgusting, that's a you problem because you apparently don't wash them.

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

He's from New York not Texas you inbred twit.

[–] OneSpectra@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

They are afraid of what he represents.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

A short while ago Zionists were so preoccupied with racism and discrimination. What happened?

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Maybe Gill can go back to the 80s when his dated geopolitical reference was relevant

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Hey Gill, there are large swaths of MAGA territory that are beyond the 3rd World.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Just when you think you're being a little hard on the dumb cunts.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 277 points 1 week ago (3 children)

He's already there dipshit. Look around you

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 61 points 1 week ago

Best reply.

I feel like the US is more like a Second World country. By "Second World", I mean the countries that are more aligned to Russia than to NATO. That description now fits the US, unfortunately.

Remember the days when an openly racist comment like this would mean the end of your political career?

[–] peregrin5@piefed.social 120 points 1 week ago (22 children)

For Republicans it actually boosts their poll numbers.

People want to be openly racist again. That's what MAGA really means.

Republican Representative Brandon Gill has told New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to "go back to the Third World" in response to a video of him eating with his hands.

I guess this asshole has never eaten a burger, chicken, hot dog etc. Fucking racist piece of shit.

[–] snekerpimp@lemmy.snekerpimp.space 69 points 1 week ago (3 children)

He eats pizza with a knife and fork… allegedly

remember, the super rich are the enemy of the people, not your fellow citizens from different backgrounds

The owning class is the only minority group that does you any harm.

Think the overt racism is bad now; it’s only going to get progressively worse.

Words cannot describe the hate I have for the entire American establishment with the exception of Bernie, Zohran, and AOC.

Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Mark Kelly I'll even chuck Tim Waltz in there.

Oh, I'm sorry. Which country is it again that can't do UHC but can spend billions on blowing up rockets while people starve and or can't find homes/shelter in this same "first world country"?

Gill married Danielle D'Souza, the daughter of conservative political commentator Dinesh D'Souza, in 2017. They have two children and live in Flower Mound, Texas.

So Gill's father and wife are okay but a foreigner with differing political opinions is crossing the line?

With the whole Glastonbury kerfuffle I've come to know more about this band called Bob Vylan. They have this lovely song, and it goes ike this:

I heard you want your country back
Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Uh-uh, you can't have that
The only place I know
Stolen right under my nose
By ignorant scum
Tryna lay claim to a land that ain't theirs anyway
Wait - what did you say?
I heard you want your country back
Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Uh-uh, you can't have that
I heard you want your country back
Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Well shit, me too
