Please Rich Evans if you’re listening please go to Comic Con in full Lucas regalia. We need this.

They must combine their powers

I think we are all better for having George Lucas. We wouldn’t have Pixar, ILM, or LucasArts without him. OG Star Wars and American Graffiti were legitimately good. Every other film he did was garbage, however.

His ex wife was why the OG films were so good, and why every Star Wars film after the divorce was such trash.

Honest question, why didn't they hire her later?

She was a talented editor, and SW and RoTJ are the better for her work. But I think her real contributions during this time was reining Lucas in. He seems to do better with a moderating influence, at least in filmmaking.

Because Lucas was one of the last auteurs, and believed her moderating influence was absolutely ruining his vision.

Lucasarts was his greatest achievement. It gave us so, so many good games. My personal favorite, Gladius, isn't even a Star Wars game.

Oh man, I never got around to that but I have it. Do you think it still holds up even if someone didn't play it at the time?

[–] PraiseTheSoup@midwest.social 2 points 4 days ago

I'm not sure I'm the right person to ask as I just professed my undying love for this game. Before it became backwards compatible a few years ago I would drag out my original Xbox and hook everything up once a year just to play through it again. So yes, I think it holds up. However, now that it's available digitally and much easier to access I haven't had the urge to play it in awhile.

Let’s hope this goes better than the Szechuan Sauce re-release

What's he gonna do, complain about fans or the deal he made with Disney?

By now, people hopefully understand the difference between trying and failing (PT) and not caring at all (ST). George wasn't perfect, but he cared about his world and even at their worst the prequels only fail in execution.

I hope they’re nice to him
