I don't drink, I don't take drugs. I like my pain and trauma raw thank you.

Raw-dogging the pain as the kids would say.

The best way to manage pain is to understand the causes and manage those.

Is that chronic work stress causing an ulcer? Either reduce how much you work or leave to a less stressful work environment.

Is it chronic inflammation? Ibuprofen and Tylenol and determining what foods and environmental conditions produce the most inflammation response (then reducing exposure) (artificial preservatives are pretty common cause and eating less heavily produced foods is probably a good idea)

Is it emotional pain due to isolation? Find/spend time with your hug group.

Is it emotional pain due to embarrassment? Find someone who you can joke about it with and laugh your ass off.

Etc etc

sounds much harder to scale than alcohol or opiates

Well yes, proper care is rarely scalable. And always requires thoughtful consideration for others and the reasons for why things are done in a particular way.

Aren't we all here to escape the pain?

It's the Happiness Spiral, as Kikuri would say
