Political ideologies are not defined by "belief" or your feelings, you are extremely incorrect and probably also a liberal, gatekeeping is great when the people being excluded are objective awful
Exactly. Fascists don't consider themselves fascist. Words have meaning. Your beliefs don't meet a specific ideological definition simply because you feel like they should.
Democrats call themselves leftists all the time while supporting non leftist policies and politicians while believing their party is left of center. It's no different than MAGA believing they are Christian despite being nothing like their Christ.

Back in the aughts, I remember people calling him a Nazi when he was running for mayor of San Francisco. I thought it was hyperbole. It's less clear than I realized.
