Rules

  1. Be nice to each other. Being aggressive or inflammatory towards other users will get you banned. Name calling or obvious trolling falls under that. Hate cars, hate the system, but not people. While some drivers definitely deserve some hate, most of them didn't choose car-centric life out of free will.

  2. No bigotry or hate. Racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, chauvinism, fat-shaming, body-shaming, stigmatization of people experiencing homeless or substance users, etc. are not tolerated. Don't use slurs. You can laugh at someone's fragile masculinity without associating it with their body. The correlation between car-culture and body weight is not an excuse for fat-shaming.

  3. Stay on-topic. Submissions should be on-topic to the externalities of car culture in urban development and communities globally. Posting about alternatives to cars and car culture is fine. Don't post literal car fucking.

  4. No traffic violence. Do not post depictions of traffic violence. NSFW or NSFL posts are not allowed. Gawking at crashes is not allowed. Be respectful to people who are a victim of traffic violence or otherwise traumatized by it. News articles about crashes and statistics about traffic violence are allowed. Glorifying traffic violence will get you banned.

  5. No reposts. Before sharing, check if your post isn't a repost. Reposts that add something new are fine. Reposts that are sharing content from somewhere else are fine too.

  6. No misinformation. Masks and vaccines save lives during a pandemic, climate change is real and anthropogenic - and denial of these and other established facts will get you banned. False or highly speculative titles will get your post deleted.

  7. No harassment. Posts that (may) cause harassment, dogpiling or brigading, intentionally or not, will be removed. Please do not post screenshots containing uncensored usernames. Actual harassment, dogpiling or brigading is a bannable offence.

Please report posts and comments that violate our rules.

I give Musk credit for understanding manufacturing very well

The manufacturing:

Fuck's sake. The 2-hit combo that is this fucking mess:

And are you married?

I was married, but I’m not married anymore. Women don't like the vehicle.

In July, Tesla rolled out a software update to integrate Grok into many of its vehicles. Do you use it?

Her name is Aura, and I use her as a therapist. When I'm driving, I'll ask questions, and it actually gives really good therapy advice.

Yes, the sycophantic totally-not-a-nazi bot is going to work wonders pretending to be a therapist for this fucking guy while he's driving. Absolutely fucked.

God, this article is so much cringier than I thought it would be. It’s basically all “that happened” level content, like, “I told the gay lady to respect me and then everybody cheered.”

[–] marcie@lemmy.ml 18 points 2 days ago

Uh actually she cried for thinking he was a Nazi (Jewish people can't be fascists sweaty)

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 48 points 2 days ago (1 children)

“OK, so did you ever get profiled anytime in your life for being gay?” And she says, “Yeah, all the time. I hated it.” And I was like, “Well, do you realize that you just profiled me based off of the vehicle that I drive and me wearing work boots and being a big white guy as being a Nazi when it's completely something totally different?” And she broke down in tears and apologized.

Sure buddy. She totally didnt say: "Your nazi ass chose to buy this car despite Musk being a nazi, so go fuck yourself!"

What is it with rightists and thinking they have the codes to make us suddenly realize the error of our ways and agree with them entirely? Like, they think they have these rhetorical truth bombs they can just drop at a moments notice to un-woke-ify an entire room at once. But those are actually usually dogwhistles or slurs...

Won't somebody think of the poor persecuted Cybertruck owners? /s

[–] Kallestar@lemmy.ml 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wow look at all these persecuted small business tyrants.

Job: Entrepreneur and owner of a construction company.

Job: Runs a business called Smugglers Runs, which does “postapocalyptic off-road” rallies

Jobs: Frank is a consultant in the health care industry; Diane is a dog mom and former zookeeper

Job: Small business owner

Job: Stock trader

Job: Entrepreneur

Jobs: Shawn sells window coverings; Nannette is a branch manager for a credit union

Job: Cybertruck wrapper

LOL

"It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is." [Editor’s note: Taylor was arrested and convicted of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. He was later pardoned by President Trump.

Hahahahahaha

Anything you don’t like about it?
I can't really see the front out of the windshield because it’s so long.

Best car I ever owned, can't see shit out of it.

[–] Xanthrax@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Dude, no. Feminists are awesome. This is a racist pretending to be a feminist.

I don't have the cringe capacity to read the article, that cover image alone is so cringe-inducing already. What a bunch of posers. "Off-road lighting" which reduces departure angles, road tires, vinyl wrap. Clearly all of this is there just to look cooler in a mall parking lot. Taking a picture on a dirt track which I could take my Prius on (when I still had it) is just cherry on top.

I 100% guarantee my 30-year-old van with cheapo M/T and a slightly cut front bumper, is better at offroading than those pieces of simultaneously over- and under-engineered garbage. And I use it exclusively for off-road and camping, no city driving (except for helping my friends move).

Owning a truck for personal use is stupid and reckless (except for very specific circumstances which apply to like <1% of the population). But a Cybertruck is just so much dumber. It's like someone took the idea of a truck, stripped it of any potential use-cases it might have had, designed it in the worst way possible, and implemented it with as many reliability and safety issues as possible while keeping plausible deniability.

Lol I don't do any of that. I just laugh and shake my head. Nothing makes these people's beans more than just not being taken seriously because of their own choices. Heh I just thought about how much they all paid for a ticking time bomb of failure points just to feel superior and really it just shows lack of understanding and judgement. Made me chuckle again. Dumbasses.

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

I saw one with a wrap pulling into a Tesla dealer. I had a chuckle at how much they're dealing with stupid issues
