Is it wrong to learn more about history through memes than I ever did through history classes in school?

No wrong way to learn history, as long as you make reasonable efforts to weed out misinformation! 🙏

The education system is wrong if it didn’t teach you the value of independent learning outside of school. Like PugJesus said, there's no wrong way to learn history, as long as you criticise your sources.

Both have a lot of stuff named after them, no? At least in the cities I've been to, there's always something named after at least one of them, if not a park then a street or a monument.

Much of Poland had been stolen by imperialist powers, but the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth still existed at this time, albeit in a weakened state. It would receive its final deathblow in the 1790s.

Sorry for all the *gestures broadly* Poland.

Fun fact; there is a discussion whether or not Kościuszko might have been a woman or an intersex person. Havent looked into it, but wouldent be a first in history...
