Is Shaka Ponk metal? Probably
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.
They are supposedly heavy metal, but they got all kinds of stuff in there.
I think this is considered prog metal, not sure. But the band Animals as Companions. I think they are fucking awesome. Combat Cartography (iirc) is a awesome track check out.
I'm not into rock/metal enough to know all the genres that well, but alot of the heavier stuff has singers that just ruin it for me. Animals deals with that in Mt favorite way, no singer.
I love Jesters Dance by In Flames, but that seems to be one of the few they have without singing.
You might be thinking of Animals as Leaders, I can't find anything about Animals as Companions. And you're right, they're definitely prog metal. Super intricate riffing and bizarro time signatures. It's a good time! I'm not familiar enough with them to know what song you're talking about, but they're a very unique group.
Lol yes leaders. Irl animals are usually companions and I just mess that up in my head.
It’s prog but Angra with Kiko as lead guitarist is still the greatest of all time for me. Kiko left the band for Megadeth a little while back, their new guitarist is solid but just not on the same level. Rebirth, Fireworks and Temple of Shadows are probably my top 3 favorite albums.
Been listening to Municipal Waste recently. They're good.
Spotify links cuz I'm lazy — not in any particular order:
- Architects - "Spit the Bone"
- Chaosbay - "New Age" Do take a listen to the whole album if you like this song. It's a concept album and the music really flows quite well from track to track.
- Beartooth - "Below"
- Beartooth - "In Between"
- Ice Nine Kills - "The American Nightmare" This band's interesting, in that their last two albums' tracks are all inspired from/are about various horror movies.
- While She Sleeps - "Sleeps Society"
- Periphery - "Wax Wings"
- Bury Tomorrow - "Begin Again"
- Everture - "Empire"
- Dark Tranquility - "Eyes of the World"
- Countless Skies - "Tempest"
- Shylmagoghnar - "Transience"
Ex Mortis by Ice Nine Kills is an absolute bop. Swing-time metalcore.
May I suggest Twelve Foot Ninja https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SYvzn5grrI
