A Tek chip was the delivery mechanism for the VR drugs from the William Shatner authored TekWar books.

Wanted something not related to my other usernames and I fucking love gyozas

Because Ganondorf should have been a clone of Samus in Smash Bros Melee, not Captain Falcon. At the time, his one appearance (Ocarina of Time) had him using a projectile-focused moveset. This would have inevitably given him morph ball motions (down-B and roll), which would have ultimately been swapped out, but it's a fun thought that it would have been like that during part of development.

Autocorrect kinda fudged mine up and I said go it.

[–] flameguy21@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Been using this user name since I made a PSN account when I was 12 lol

[–] heckillwingit@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

I was trying to figure out a username for another social media, and landed on this one after trying weird combinations of my name and birth year, none of which I like. Afterwards, it just stuck around because I became my life motto for many things as well.

[–] ahriboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

My name is dedicated to the Nine-Tailed Fox from League, who she is my main in Wild Rift.

PS: I haven't played Wild Rift after I felt tired of getting tilted in Ranked.

[–] Laila@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Because it's mine and it was available.

Someone on reddit a long time ago said, look at the item to your right, that's your new username, what is it? It was before I had ever made an account so I took that as time to make one. I was at work so a bag of plasma was there. Done deal.

I used this name for a specific purpose, then that purpose became irrelevant. With the API fubar, I ditched both of my profile names though this does bone one purpose of one of the old aliases (for my NSFW work) so I may end up bringing it back in some form. I like this name better though.

[–] Draconic_NEO@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I just used the name I use on Discord and a few others places.

It was originally Toothless_NEO and still is on Reddit, Steam, and for some reason matrix but I changed it everywhere else I could because an asshole was harassing me and encouraging other people to harass me (had to actually pay money to change it in some places, Xbox live makes you pay to change your username).

[–] fury@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I get mad sometimes

[–] 6daemonbag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

Wind... fire... All that kind of thing.

[–] Nittick@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

My friends name is Nick and was thinking about him when I came up with this name. Also wanted a cool unique name like my brothers came up with for their gamer tags.

[–] Demographics@midwest.social 1 points 2 years ago

No one ever has had the user in anything I participate in

[–] SouthEndSunset@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

I live on South End and I love sunsets…combined, it makes no fucking sense.

[–] SwingingTheLamp@midwest.social 1 points 2 years ago

It's like shootin' the breeze, but old time sailor-y.

[–] excitingburp@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Crunchyroll autogenerated it. I liked it.

[–] limpid_luster@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

childhood memory i guess

[–] Wololo@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

It's a reference to age of empires 2. My favorite game during my childhood.

[–] Nika03@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I don't really remember, but it's short - 4 letters, 2 syllables and it's a real name. It's not my real name though and yes, people love referring to that n-word when they see my username. I have it for years and I don't regret it.

[–] tomkatt@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It's a variation on what my wife calls me. It's been my username on forums and such for a long time.

[–] darreninthenet@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

I'll give you one guess...

[–] Icaria@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Used to play a lot of games, some sci-fi, some fantasy... was lazy and didn't like having to come up with multiple names. It just kinda stuck.

[–] mathterdark@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Math was my favorite subject in school, and I think that adding the phrase "after dark" to something made it sound cooler. So I combined the two to create my username.

EDIT: my display name (not username) is the exact opposite of the display name I used on aliensite
