I get it, you want to go home. But if you advertise to the community that you are open until 2200, but regularly shut shop at 2145, just change your opening hours.

When I worked at a store we closed for new customers at 21:45 because we had so many coming in and then leisurely walking around and taking their time.

With all the things needed to be done before going home we got to work overtime several times a week due to inconsiderate customers.

I would blame all the late arrivals and them being inconsiderate.

Ever since covid hit, so many restaurants by me are only open until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and a lot of their owners have been resorting to whining on Facebook that they're not getting customers anymore. Most of these places used to be open 24 hours or close late.

Almost nobody wants Mexican food or a steak dinner at 7 in the morning. Businesses need to be there for their customers. You can't just be open at 6 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon just because that's when you want to work if you're in that business.

but at my work people come 1 minute before closing time and pretend to get a service that takes at least 30 min

The worst part is when the shop closes early because the owner wants to stare her microwaves oven for three hours. While refusing to sell you animal food, knowing that you run a farm and your animals will starve the next day. While still bullshitting that "I luuuuv animalz"!

(I got a few RL family business doing the same in my neighbourhood. Mildly infuriating for me, too. Specially the bakery.)

And you being way to late to buy food for your animals is their problem so they should stay open? When you're this close to letting your animals starve, you're very bad at planning your shopping.

We have at least 1 week of food to spare (for both us and the animals) when we go out for the next batch, as we know that sometimes the stock at shops is low, we can't get out shopping the day we want or won't have it delivered on the day we want. Just in time is a bad method of getting food. (or to be honest anything, as you rely on nothing going wrong and Murphy is always awake ;) )
