Not ironic it all.
The US condemns China for the treatment of the Uyghurs. US good, China bad.
China condemns the US for the treatment of the Palestinians. China good, US bad.
Both countries don't give a shit about either.
The dismantling of the US was Putins wet dream since forever, he would have done the same with or without the well deserved sanctions for invading Ukraine.
That doesn't make much sense, since Baja California was named California before the US-State which even belonged to Mexico back in the days.
If anything Trump is going to change California to Ivankia or Putinstan, but I guess at that point California will rather rejoin Mexico.
It's what Putin wants, so yeah.

Chromium, while open source, is controlled by Google and a lot of browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Samsung Android, Vivaldi) are built on it, giving it a market share of around 75%.

Electron apps are frameworks based on Chromium (ie VSCode).

Google is evil and with Manifest V3, Adblockers like uBlock Origin, will eventually stop working for all derivatives (even for Vivaldi).

The future: Because Chromium got the de facto monopoly there is no need for Firefox support anymore and the big corpos (ie Microsoft is a sucker for Chromium/Electron) can turn what's left of the "old" Internet into apps without the ability to block ads or tracking.

It's good for your mental health, but bad for lemmy in general. Those people need to be called out on their shit, downvoted and banned if necessary.
Compare it to those scam emails that are written in bad english to weed out the people too intelligent to fall for it.
They prefer you banning them, so they can influence the people listening more easily.
