It's neurosyphilis-induced dementia, which isn't surprising for a rapist pedophile who's gone years without punishment.

Comey was charged amid the president's repeated calls for investigations of his political opponents.

Former FBI Director James Comey will appear in a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday for his arraignment on charges brought after a public campaign by President Donald Trump to prosecute him.

A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted Comey, whom Trump fired during his first term in office, on two charges last month: making a false statement and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

Trump had posted just days earlier on his social media platform, calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to charge Comey. "We can't delay any longer," he wrote.

CNN asked Miller whether the Trump Administration will abide by a district judge’s order blocking the Guard’s deployment in Oregon. “Well, the Administration filed an appeal this morning with the Ninth Circuit,” Miller began. “I would note the Administration won an identical case in the Ninth Circuit just a few months ago with respect to the federalizing of the California National Guard.”

Then, Miller said: “Under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, the President has plenary authority, has—” before making an abrupt stop. Miller blinked several times, with anchor Boris Sanchez calling out his name, though he still did not respond.

A plenary power or plenary authority is a complete and absolute power to take action on a particular issue, with no limitations.

Bondi told Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) she would not discuss conversations she had with Trump about Comey's indictment.

Bondi and Trump met for dinner at the White House the night before the indictment. Bondi also redirected questions about the Epstein investigation into scrutiny toward Democrats.

Bondi asked Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) if he had questioned her predecessor, Merrick Garland, on Epstein. She also brought up Democratic ties to LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, an alleged Epstein associate. Between the lines: Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) also asked Bondi who ordered her to flag Epstein records related to President Trump.

"I'm not going to discuss anything about that with you, senator," Bondi said. Durbin responded: "Eventually you're going to have to answer for your conduct in this. You won't do it today, but eventually you will."

The CBS News/YouGov poll, conducted between Oct. 1 and Oct. 3 among 2,441 adults, found that 39% of respondents believe Trump and congressional Republicans deserve the most blame for the shutdown. Thirty percent of respondents blame Democrats more, and 31% blame both equally.

The poll also found that 52% of respondents disapprove of the way Trump is handling the shutdown. Fifty-two percent also disapprove of the way congressional Republicans are handling it.

Meanwhile, 49% percent of respondents disapprove of the way Democrats in Congress are handling the shutdown.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.

The image of the police officers comes from a photo of “South American riot police” that was uploaded to the Getty Images archive in 2008. A clear visual clue that the photograph was not taken in Portland was that the first officer’s shield is marked “Policia”, the Spanish or Portuguese word for police.

...

When a Guardian reporter pointed out on social media that the image was not a genuine photograph of the generally small and tame protests outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Portland, the Oregon Republican Party’s X account replied: “We’re not reporters, just bad memers.”

Furloughed federal workers aren't guaranteed compensation for their forced time off during the government shutdown, according to a draft White House memo described to Axios by three sources.

Why it matters: If the White House acts on that legal analysis, it would dramatically escalate President Trump's pressure on Senate Democrats to end the week-old shutdown by denying back pay to as many as 750,000 federal workers after the shutdown.

Under the order, private businesses can choose to display signage indicating that ICE cannot enter without a warrant—thereby designating “their property as part of a city-wide network of community spaces that stand together in affirming the safety, dignity, and belonging of all of our residents,” the mayor said.

Johnson touted the order for building “a broad civic shield that limits the reach of harmful enforcement practices. It strengthens neighborhood solidarity and it reaffirms Chicago’s role as a welcoming city.”

Psychiatrists have joined other public health groups in calling for the removal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as health secretary.

Two psychiatry organizations — the Southern California Psychiatry Society and the recently formed grassroots Committee to Protect Public Mental Health — have released statements saying that the actions of the leader of the Department of Health and Human Services have increased stigma, instilled fear and hurt access to mental health and addiction care.

"As physicians committed to evidence-based care, we are alarmed by the direction of HHS under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr," the Committee to Protect Public Mental Health said in a statement.

Billionaire ticks all the boxes on the antisemitic score card as Trump attacks Democratic contributors before midterms

Pam Bondi, the US attorney general, said “everything is on the table” and left it there. But Donald Trump threw discretion to the wind and was far more specific about his choice of enemy to go after.

“If you look at Soros, he’s at the top of everything,” the US president said.

The gathering with reporters took place in the Oval Office last month as Trump ordered a crackdown on “leftwing terrorism” and threatened to investigate and prosecute those who financially support it.

There is no evidence linking George Soros, a 95-year-old billionaire who has supported democratic causes around the world, or Reid Hoffman, who helped start PayPal and the networking site LinkedIn, to terrorism. But both are top donors to the Democratic party. And both were named by Trump as potential participants in a vast conspiracy to finance violent protesters against the government.
