CordCutters - a place for those who have unsubscribed from traditional cable TV or satellite service

CordCutters is a place for those who have cut the Cable or Satellite TV cord, and want to know what other legal services are available. No piracy talk please, it could get the person posting it in trouble with the authorities and could get the community banned on some servers, so please only talk about products and services that are legal to use.

Hulu, Netflix, and Prime all have download for offline viewing on my phone. Why can’t I do this on my FireTV or Roku.

I know we’re limited by the device hard drives but it seems like amazon would welcome a reason to sell an upgraded hard drive version of Netflix would allow downloads.

99% of the time I wouldn’t need this but it would be a lifesaver at hotels with terrible wifi. Hell I might invest in a little back of the headrest tv for car if I could preload some shows for my kiddo to play on long road trips.

I think this is a pretty cool idea. It’s likely disabled because streaming devices typically don’t have much onboard RAM and everyone has a phone or laptop they can use for the purpose.
