I was originally going to post about blurred NSFW images opening in external browser unless you first open the comments where the thumbnail is visible and tapping on that then opens the image internally. But this issue has recently spread to cover pretty much every image. The images have URLs like https://sopuli.xyz/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.world%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2Fc29a7ebe-f747-4518-8e53-62a552145b5f.jpeg which seems to make Connect think it's an entire website that should be opened externally. Is it a Lemmy thing, my home instance sopuli.xyz thing or a Connect thing?
Note that I did try disabling the external browser in the settings but actual websites opening internally was a horrible reminder about why we don't do that.
EDIT: Following @bstix@feddit.dk's advice, I switched to the beta branch on Play Store and it seems this week started with a number of related fixes. I'm on version 257 now and the majority of images seem to now open internally regardless of the external browser setting, like they did before. ๐ช
