Part of how you know that no one they send there is going to actually be a gang member or terrorist or anything like that. Those guys wouldn't be going without a fight. And with no due process and no chance of ever getting out, it's not like they have anything to lose.
Fascists are cowards and will only fight when they are certain of victory.
That's why "it's ok to punch a Nazi" was an effective deterrent.
Only fighting when you’re certain of victory is actually the smart way of doing combat. Nothing to do with fascists or cowards.
I think what you mean is that they will only pick on the weak and indefensible. That’s what’s going on. This isn’t even a fight, they are snapping them off the street without warning. And it isn’t a victory either, as they are fast tracking mass outrage.
We’re being played, as is always the case with Trump. He’s dictating the things we get outraged by, day by day. He wants the outrage, because he needs the pretext for Martial Law. That’s the fight he wants, and the victory they seek: total consolidation of power, so he can crown himself king.
Hitler too, only had a vocal minority before he rose to power.
