The Watchmen movie is a flawed masterpiece and a cult classic, despite Alan Moore (the original comic creator) disavowing it. It's one of those movies where I usually would say there's no need for a sequel, but the TV series which is set after the events of the film-

Not to be too much of an "ummm actually" guy, but the Watchmen series takes place after the original graphic novel. The movie's ending is considered not canon which confused a lot of people (including the author here).

I am one of the few comic book adaptation lovers that didn't care for Watchmen the movie. Its biggest flaw was the desperate need for proper editing, like most of Snyder's films. It is like the equivalent of extended word salad, only on film. And didn't they release an extended version also? Yikes.
