  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Uhhh, I'm not avoiding your place due to Trump. When I can go to other places and get a quality, fresh, burger with fries and a drink for the same price as your "meal", I know where I'm going.

This goes for almost all fast food these days. Prices are stupid expensive for low quality, and a lot of sit down restaurants are beating fast food prices.

Seriously, places be averaging 12-20 bucks a person and wondering why their sales suck. I can order to-go from local restaurants for that price.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

Delis and pizza joints will always beat fast food in my opinion.

McDonalds have forgotten their place. We dont go there because the food is good, we go there because we were able to fill ourselves up on pocket change.

McDoubles are $3.79 where I am. The fuck is that?!?

[–] Forester@pawb.social 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They still sell them for the old price but only if you give them unrestricted access to your phone

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

This should be pricing discrimination, honestly.

McDonald's is special. They think they're equal to chick-fil-a, canes, sonic, etc... But they make cheap crap that should only compete with taco bell. I just get better fast food for the same money elsewhere.

But if you're paying McDonald's prices you're STILL paying way too much for "fast food".

[–] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

Yes but that's somewhat OK. The FAST part matters some days and I'll pay for it to eat in the car.

My local gas station has better food for less. Their pork rib sandwich is $3.29 and is worlds better than the sugary slop that is the mcrib.

Yeah, the gouging has been my main reasreason for cutting back spending on food items.

In McDonald's case, I used to get stuff from there more when they had stuff that was at least trying to be healthy, like some of their salads and wraps.

Now it's $10 for a shitty 2-cheeseburger meal with shitty fries and shitty service. And they don't have much else.
