Ok, so that was horrifying that they treated it so lightly, but this headline seems slightly inaccurate.
It seems they were not blowing it up for a 'gender reveal', but instead were blowing it up otherwise and something in the building produced blue smoke, and they found the resemblence hilarious.
Al Jazeera must have updated/corrected it. The title of the post was the original headline.
That's not a good look for Al Jazeera.
Al Jazeera is always extremely anti Israel. The Arabic version even more so than the English one.
That’s like saying science is anti-conservative
Well, you can check it yourself. Go to Arabic Al Jazeera and use machine translation and compare it to the English version. Then compare the article to the same topic on the BBC and Times of Israel. Compare and contrast.
Al Jazeera is Qatari state media. There’s no press freedom in that authoritarian kingdom.
You'd expect them to be factually accurate though.
Updating the article to provide more correct information as soon as it's uncovered is part of that
You'd have to be an asshole not oppose country based on settler-colonialism and ethnic cleansing
...and yet, being anti-Israel was considered a far-right neo-Nazi position not that long ago. It became acceptable again from the start of the current flare up (the current fighting isn't something new, it's been going on and off for decades). Before that, anti-Israel meant anti-Jew meant obviously Nazi. It's wild how when things change so many people will just quietly drop the old narrative and pretend it never existed. We've always been at war with Eurasia and all that.
The reality is that the US supports Israel, has for a long time and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. It's not because of being pro-Jew or wanting to ethnically cleanse Arabs, it's because they're our only real ally in the Middle East and thus we'll remain safely on their good side unless and until we get a strategically more useful ally in the Middle East. Then keeping them happy becomes less important.
Jews have opposed Israel since before 1948. Its always been a progressive position since Hertzel
OK, that's somewhat callous, but I think almost any nation's soldiers would make that same joke.
