Yup! That'll get them more support from the people who already say they don't do anything!
If any of this were actual congressional legislation, Democrats could also stop it with a filibuster. All of this damage is being done through executive order. If you can’t identify the problem, your criticism will fail to address it.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't
When they were giving that power, they turned around and said " do we become the exact thing we swore to destroy? Or do we trust the process that's been laid out for us and hope for the best?"
Whether they made the right call is up to interpretation. But do you really want to live in a country where either political party can just lock away their opponents whenever they deem fit?
Ok. And as soon as they do it the first time, ot gives them free reign to use it in retaliation.
They're really good at making themselves look like the victim. One of the talking points when all that was going on was "yeah but he can serve from behind bars." Imagine the support he would have gotten if the democrats for the first time ever used the power.
The SC dared them to use the power and the democrats (in my opinion correctly) decided it was for the greater good to not unleash that can of worms
