Ive been basing my guess on this video by Gamers Nexus. It doesnt exactly apply directly to all the metals that are referenced in that video, but tarrifs themselves are in some cases being doubled or more.
And exactly that, the cheapness of items under a certain dollar amount were previously exempt via the De Minimis rule/law.
I dont say that i know or understand much of it. But those are my guesses. It very well may be that that there's a brand tax applied.
