The problem with Wiimotes is that they use an outdated Bluetooth standard. I guess it isn't supported anymore due to security concerns. On top of that the built-in Wiimote drivers suck ass and have nonsensical bindings.
I should get healthy, learn driver programming and fix this.
Luckily Cwiid should still work. You'll just have to build it yourself as it's not packaged or supported anymore. I usually use wmgui or wminput. Especially the latter is pretty powerful with everything you can set up.
