Both sides attacked each other "just ahead of peace talks". Headline makes it sound like Ukraine is the aggressor here. Also to remind, it is the second round of peace talks. The first one Putin didn't even think to attend while Zelensky was ready to. As well right after or before the first round Russia also did some nasty attacks. As probably did Ukraine. It's a war after all.

The difference here is, Russia attacks civilian infrastructure and Ukraine attacks military planes.

Yeah, the point is Ukraine can now go to the peace talks and say "Are you ready to quit and go home yet?"

These are not worth anything. Peace talks I mean

  1. russia is trying to break Ukraine. And strongly believes it can or has to do it. Not conquer and occupy. It is a Stallinist method - let them be "free" and self regulate by installed puppets.

  2. russian diplomacy schools explicitly teach that you either are stronger or food for others.

  3. russian diplomacy schools explicitly teach to prolong, stall, distract, enrage until complacency is achieved.
