US Senator Lindsay Graham has just tweeted an article titled “Greta Thunberg sets sail with Gaza flotilla that aims to break Israeli naval blockade,” adding the comment, “Hope Greta and her friends can swim!”

Australian Zionist think tanker Arsen Ostrovsky somehow outdid Graham, tweeting “Oh look, the little jihadi Greta Thunberg is trying to get into Gaza, to show solidarity with Hamas. It would be so sad if something were to happen to her flotilla…”

There’s not a lot that can shock me about Israel and its supporters these days. But if you’d traveled back in time a few years ago it would be hard to explain to someone how we got to a timeline that includes Israel supporters openly advocating the assassination of Greta Thunberg.

True Zionists legitimately believe they are fighting a righteous holy war with the lord on their side. They believe they will be vindicated by God. To them, people like Greta are agents of evil.

They're also brainwashed to believe that Palestinians are all subhuman terrorists who want all Israelis dead.

Not that much different to post-9/11 anti-Muslim campaigns leading into Iraq and Afghanistan, Red Scare propaganda, Nazi antisemitic propaganda, etc.

Israel's government is basically being run by Dick Cheney's clone. If Netanyahu actually cared about Israelis, then this genocide would have never happened.

But then there’s all the apocalypse bullshit and the modern interpretation that thermonuclear war in Jerusalem (or thereabouts) is going to get these fuckwads raptured.

Meanwhile young men in the US are increasingly joining fundamentalist churches (like Catholics that wear veils), and claiming it’s because it gives them something “real and true” unlike social media I guess?

I’ll probably be dead before it collapses and surely before it recovers. But it all feels so avoidably dumb.

Different sects of the same religion hate each other (catholics and protestants, shia and sunni muslims, hasidic jews and every other jew, etc). It's not that much of a stretch that different religions under the same umbrella also hate each other.
