I'm going to guess that Russia doesn't want us to enter the war.

Probably. Tucker Carlson is saying the same thing, so their handlers are telling them “nope, we don’t like that”.

Mmm I can’t wait to see the unintended consequences of that backpedaling.

God I hope there are some..

Putin gets his drones from Iran

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 47 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

I'm guessing everyone with a brain doesn't want the US to go into Iran. It's like these people didn't learn anything from the last quarter century (and Vietnam before that).

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 34 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Learn things? With our education system??? Buddy! What do you think this is??? A different country? Who's this other country you're thinking about??? They sound like someone we need to go to war with! Do they have oil?

You don't need an education system, just past lived experience. Trump himself regularly lies about how he was always against the Iraq war. It's just one letter off, should be pretty easy to work out what would happen if they did the same thing again.

Not to mention the terrain of Iran would prove an order of magnitude more difficult to overcome. Afghanistan was already very difficult for our military, imagine MORE mountains

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 24 points 15 hours ago

Yep, huge country, difficult terrain, largely homogeneous culture that goes back to the Persian Empire, homegrown weapons industry that can build their own drones and missiles. This is going to be more difficult by orders of magnitude.

after all that trouble they went to get military aid to be diverted from ukraine, indirectly via trump. probably realized the war near thier own country could destabalize the region which can draw in russia, possibly pakistan, india and china.

Then why would Krasnov be doing it?

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Eventually, Trump betrays everyone. Putin's had his hands full the last few years with his "special military operation" and hasn't been able to hold Trump's leash as tightly as he did in his first term.

To force the mining of the Straits of Hormuz, which will raise the price of oil enough to prop up Russia.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Because he's also a cuck to Netanyahu and AIPAC.

[–] RestrictedAccount@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

100%.

PLUS

Putin is hanging Krasnov out to dry on Ukraine.
