General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

This is not because of his view on Christianity but because he's accused of serious sexual assaults. Christian or not, that's not cool.

Tough line to draw really.

The legal system is built on "innocent until proven guilty", so it's understandable why entire careers aren't brought to a halt because of one or more allegations of misconduct.

Problem is, how do we let that continue while listening to complainants, making them feel heard, and safeguarding future potential victims?

I'm not asking you in particular, you're just the comment I've replied to - it's one of those impossible situations to draw a line in the sand without fucking over one of the sides.

We trap their souls in a time cube at accusation, allow them to do what they want until trial, and after the trial if the verdict is guilty we activate the cube which will bring them back to the accusation time and they can be shunned accordingly. There is no flaw in this plan. Except, of course, for the Time Slime.

I'm the slime, oozing out, of your temporal net.

Any children born during initial interim period are sold off upon a guilty verdict to rich Time Oligarchs such as the The Doctor, as fodder for their endless pointless pursuits and conquests.

Well if anywhere is a time cube it is Brighton. Of course all the current souls in there were trapped in the '80s, so you'd have to decant them first.
