I had been running openMW for a few weeks, but since the update a few days ago (via Arch package, and later retried with AUR) I get an error:

Missing OSG plugin: osgPlugins-3.6.5/osgdb_dae.so

Does anyone happen to know how to resolve this ?

I'm sorry, I read the forum link you sent but I don't know how to apply it to my problem; I cloned the Git repo but couldn't find a .so file there

Should I just remove the distro file and install openMW from Git ?

The Arch packagers messed up, and I added a check for that specific mistake when OpenMW launches so any packager who bothered to test their packages at all would see their mistake before it affected any users. Apparently Arch don't test their packages.
