So I am using android and have joined groups but as soon as I open the app it starts to retrieve msg. which takes time and a lot of battery. There is no inbuilt setting for this so those who use it . How do you deal with this issue

Thank you

I installed it from Google play so I think it would be using play service like element does but in settings I can see 3 options run at startup run all the time and 3rd one

It does not use FCM. Like I said, they have their own service.

You just need to adjust that setting to your preference.

There is no settings to fetch stuff when I click on a group instead of fetching for every group 😕

You can make this suggestion to the developer. Maybe, he can suggest something to reduce the battery impact of server polling.

Use the run all the time setting. There is no getting around that. Unless, you have a unified push server which can notify for replies.
