The geography is also advantageous for defense, however. Venezuelans know their geography. I don't think a guerilla campaign funded by the US Empire has the same capability of success as they have in the past.

i hope you're right and they need to start turtling last year to turn the geography into their advantage since it's going to be dirt cheap to bribe the local people into doing the american empire's bidding.

We'll see. The US Empire may not be able to field a protracted assault, but that doesn't mean any conflict will be a cakewalk for Venezuela. Very worrying progressions.
