This is a very easy problem to solve, set an alarm 30 minutes before you wake up and snooze it three times, and then you will be awake by the time your actual alarm goes off. If that doesnt work increase to 45m-60m. This way you get to go back to sleep several times before you have to get up. Lets your brain cath up to capitalism. Those 10 minute gaps between snoozes end up feeling like 20-30m each.

This kind of sleep is not actually restorative and it ends up training your brain into making it even harder to wake up in the morning.

It also trains you to turn off the alarm without actually waking up, so you can imagine how fun it is to wake up late and realize your alarm did ring, but you turned it off and have zero recollection of doing it 👍

For me its the opposite and you are only waking up like a 5 seconds to hit snooze, you fall back asleep instantly. You might find yourself going to bed 30 minutes earlier or something but who cares? I dont fight sleep so that helps. I really enjoy my sleep. I also enjoy the morning time now because im super comfortable for like 30 minutes before i go to work as my mind slowly wakes up.

I'm happy this works for you but it would fuck my brain up royally. When the alarm goes off my brain tries to wake up and after a bit I will go back to sleep. A second alarm 10 minutes later will then fully wake me up but i have 3 back ups with completely different ring tones so my brain doesn't get used to them and just block them out. I also choose pleasant yet attention grabbing tunes to avoid the blocking out problem. You'd be surprised at how effectively your brain can block a sound it doesn't like. It's why I've long avoided getting the alarms with the typical alarm sound.

That only happens to me, the blocking out, if i get less then like 5 1/2 hours of sleep.

Lets your brain cath up to capitalism.

Tf does this mean?

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think they meant to type catch not cath. And the implication is that without capitalism you would not have to wake up at a particular time thus necessitating an alarm to wake you at a particular time in the morning.

[–] GrammarPolice@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm aware of the typo, but I'm not sold on the idea that there aren't non-capitalism reasons to wake up early. What if I have a date in the morning? Or a flight to catch?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Those are one-time events, not daily necessities for life.

[–] GrammarPolice@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The initial argument, nor even the original post, never specified which it was referring to, so "catch up to capitalism" is a bit of a lost phrase here

[–] dependencyinjection@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is not how you solve that problem.

This is a recipe for disaster.

[–] DarkAri@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

I have been doing it for years and i always wake up easily. It works very well for me. The issue I have is im slow to wake up. Since i decided to try this, I never really had any issue unless i only had a few hours of sleep.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

still dangerous to shut it off even after snoozing a few times

[–] DarkAri@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago

I set an extra alarm at my last time, so if i accidently turn it off I still have a backup.
